Watching the northern lights in Tromsø, Norway has forever been a bucket list item for me. I’m grateful to have seen the lights in the town of Höfn, Iceland in 2017 but the long January nights in Tromsø made for even better conditions. So much so that even the well lit city of Tromsø had dancing lights in the sky the day we arrived. Turns out we were there during a solar storm.

It wasn’t a very long trip but it was enough to enjoy some truly memorable experiences set up by Pukka Travels including a ‘Northern Lights Sailing’ and ‘Northern lights mini bus’ tour.

We also went on an exhilarating dog sledding experience with Active Tromsø and had the opportunity to stay at the Igloos at Lyngen North.
